WILD RICE FLOUR

Wild Rice (Zizania Aquatica) is not really a rice; it is a seed from an Aquatic grass. Wild Rice was important to the survival of many tribes in the upper Midwest. The harsh Winters of Minnesota made hunting and fishing difficult and Wild Rice was often the subsistence food for entire tribes. Wild Rice is very dark brown to black in color. Our Wild Rice Flour is premium grade Wild Rice milled into a tan colored flour.

Suggested Use:
Wild Rice Flour is a great added to pancakes, muffins, scones and cookies. It is nutritious, has a hearty, interesting flavor and texture. Use it to thicken casseroles, sauces, gravies and stews. Try it in fish, chicken and tempura batters. Best results are achieved when mixed with other flours.
